A first for Southern Oregon

This coming Saturday, October 9th, in Ashland Oregon, will be the regions FIRST gay pride parade!! I was going to yack about something else, but the article in the online local newspaper caught my attention. A big smile crossed my face when I read the article. It is expected that 300 people are going to attend. Possibly more!  Sadly I am sure there will be protesters and hope the event doesn't ugly. In past years I have seen the Gay Parade in San Francisco and to be honest, the air is filled with such fun and loving energy from those participating in the parade. The smiles are contagious!!!

I'm sure this post may offend some readers, and if you choose to no longer read my blog, well, I'll take it as you just not liking what you see and wanting to change the channel because you have a choice, but in my eyes, love is love whether it be heterosexual or homosexual. So long as both parties are of legal age.

Until next time....................

  1. I've never seen one, would be interesting, I just hope nobody "rains" on their parade!

    Some downright purdy chickens there!

  2. I would much rather see two people loving each other, than the killings and pain I see on the news each night. Good on em!

  4. I so agree that the emotion is way more important than gender. Love and respect! Hope the parade goes off without a hitch.

  5. Look at that! S. Oregon. I live outside of Detroit, where we have a festival where thousands attend but there is no parade. I'm impressed. I would recomend to everyone to go to at least one in their lifetime. Gay or straight, it's a perty like no other.

  6. I was always under the impression that Oregon was very liberal minded. Maybe, as here, the smaller communities take a little longer to give recognition to ALL their tax-paying citizens. I hope it goes on without a hitch.
When are you moving? Or have you finalized things yet?

  10. good for oregon! they are rising up in the world! who cares if someone is gay or not as long as they are a decent human who follows the golden rule and doesn't hurt animals! i get so tired of gay bashing when half of the idiots that are bashing are secretly gay themselves! especially those so called 'preachers'...
