A lot happens in two days!

Sorry once again for no pictures.

The past two days have been quite eventful.

One of my dearest friends called me yesterday to let me know her 16 year old son was in ICU at the hospital. Turns out her son did something over the top stupid and it nearly cost him his life.
He went to a concert New Years Eve with some friends. To make a long story short he took throughout the evening 2 of those Ecstasy pills, smoked pot and drank some wine. Then he and the friends went to another friends house where a party was going on. He decided during the wee morning hours to get into his vehicle and drive home. Thankfully his vehicle did not start. So, one of his friends got behind the wheel and they all decided to go to another friends house where they would be able to fix whatever was wrong with his vehicle. While on the way over, her son, who was in the backseat, went into seizures.  One of the friends mothers were home, saw what was happening, called 911 and he was rushed to the hospital where he remained in ICU until yesterday evening.

I just received a text message from my friend letting me know that her son had been released and they were on their way home. Time will tell if there is any permanent damage.

The mail lady was thankful for the two boxes of plastic bags. Come to find out the post office no longer supplies the carriers with plastic bags anymore!

Yesterday the rest of the logs were split and stacked. This coming weekend it looks like more firewood will be hauled down. That's okay though. I keep having visions of a nice toned summer bod!

After stacking the firewood it was off to town in what I had hoped would be a rather short trip. Nope, turned into an almost four hour trip. But I got everything needed so won't be having to go to town again until this weekend when it is grocery shopping time!

While I was in a store I saw a gal who had stopped by at one of our moving sales at the old house. So I stopped to see how she and her husband were doing. The last time we had spoke with each other they were on the brink of losing their house. Turns out they did lose their house a month after I lost mine. And what really is sad is the mortgage company kept telling them that they were reviewing their paperwork for the home loan modification up to the day of the auction! She found out they had lost their house when the realtor showed up to take pictures of the property. She told him what the mortgage company had said and he asked her if she knew that the house had reverted back to the bank that same morning! How's that for finding out you lost your house!  She told me she was so worried about me and the animals and didn't know where we had moved. I told her about this place, gave her my address and invited her to come and visit. She always loved seeing the donkeys in the pasture at the old house. My heart just aches for her ( and anyone else who has lost or is losing their home).

I have asked around about Creepy Guy and no one seems to know anything about him.

Today has been catch up on the house cleaning, laundry, cleaning the chicken coop, scrubbing water troughs, etc.....

Tomorrow my oldest daughter is coming over to help put up some livestock panels so I can enlarge the pasture for the horses and donkeys. They have eaten down the pasture pretty good.

In the morning I am going to catch up with all of you to see what the heck has been happening in your lives.

Until next time.............................

Busy, Friend,Dreams

Wow, it's been awhile since I've blogged. Time really does have a way of flying by.

Last week I was busy raking both back and front pastures. Which means pulling the arena rake with the Gator over both pastures spreading the piles of poo. And while I was doing that there was fencing to check and repair if necessary, picking up anything that doesn't belong in the pasture, begining to winterize, etc...

Also it was still tackling the totes and boxes in the barn. Geez where does all that stuff come from? I swear it multiplies.

Wednesday my dear 'old' friend called and said she was coming up here to Oregon on Friday. It was her first trip up here and talk about happy and excited to see her. This is the funny part. Rachael and I have never met in person, but through emails and phone calls, we have become fast, forever friends. So actually meeting her was really the cats meow!
Here is Rachael ( left) and myself ( right). Rachael is very photogenic whereas I am not ( really I already know I'm not. It's not a secret).

Rachael and I have been putting our heads together for about two years now on starting an Education and Sanctuary Facility. While she was here we went and looked at a piece of fabulous property. Now all we have to do is come up with the dollars to purchase the property. It's in the cards that our endeavour/dream will come to fruitation.

Please take a look at her blog at http://web.mac.com/rkomulainen/Site/Welcome.html

While Rachael was here Mr. Smith started sneezing very bad. Bad enough where droplets of blood were coming up. Thank goodness my oldest daughter is a vet tech and she came over to take a look at him. Mr. Smith is older and needless to say I was very worried about him. After a few minutes of examining him, my daughter found out what the problem was. My first thought was a foxtail. Nope. It turned out he had somehow sucked up his nose an almost three inch blade of grass!! After pulling it out, Mr. Smith is back to his old self of being ornery and demanding.

While Rachael was here she received a phone call from a mutual friend Jan that another very dear mutual friend of ours had to put her sweet Princess to sleep. Many of my followers here know Inger over at Desert Canyon Living http://www.desertcanyonliving.blogspot.com/
Inger, our hearts and thoughts are with you at this time to help relieve the pain you are going through of losing your beloved Princess. Sleep well Princess and we will see you on the other side.

There has been so much more going on but I promise not to bore you all with it!

I now must catch up on all your blogs to see what has been going on with you. I have really missed you all!

Until next time..........................

Friends Come To Visit The Farm

On Sunday two very dear friends Danni and her hubby Jim, came to visit. It was so exciting to see them. They are two of the nicest people on the planet. And with them was their cute farm dog Roxy. That little Roxy is so funny. She made her self right at home. Danni has been baking homemade bread. As you can see in the picture she was so very kind and brought us some. Plus she brought us some homemade rasberry jam and a container of rasberries from her garden. Her bread is scrumptious. Way better than any bread you can buy in the store. And the jam is so tasty and is wonderful on the bread. Thank you Danni.
Here is Danni taking pictures of just one of the donkeys here. Danni has a love for donkeys.

More donkeys wanting their pictures taken.

Pearl and Ruby very curious as to what Dani is doing. They are pretty sure that item she is holding in her hand is something to eat.
I was so excited to see Danni and Jim that I didn't take a lot of pictures. I kick myself now.
Danni has her own blog. It is called On The Way To Critter Farm. You can click on her blog to the right in the sidebar. It is wonderful reading.
Thank you Danni, Jim and Roxy for visiting us. We had so much fun.
Until next time......................
