Donkeys in the Sun
These past few days have been HOT! Doughnut and Cookie sleeping in the HOT sun.
Arnold snoozing in the shade of a tree.
Lets' see. Laying in the HOT sun or snoozing under a nice tree with shade. Hmmmm.
Just so you can see that there is more than one tree in the yard. In fact, there are six trees that provide shade. Silly girls!
Funny how they all prefer different things. Same at the DSC, some go into the cool barn as soon as it is a little hot, while others are grazing in the sun, some find shade and some just lay there sunbathing. I guess to each it's own. lol. - Tina
Yes, terribly hot! You sure they haven't passed out or too hot to get up? ;o) Even Jill will sometimes lay out in the sun, I call her in... for me, she's probably fine.
No matter how grumpy the heat makes everyone else around here, my donk boys LOVE it. The blazing sun does nothing to deter their desire to eat, wrestle, sleep, whatever...heat seems to do their bodies good! :-) Now dreary Oregon rain is an entirely different story! LOL
I have two llamas, one that will go out in the middle of the field, lay out as long as she can, and snooze in the middle of the hot sun. The other, he hides in the deepest brush, under the trees. Never can tell about the choices that our furry friends might make...
The heat really is unbareabale to watch let alone endure...feeling it for you!
So Lisa Rinna leaves near you. I started watching her on DOOL in 1990's and thought she had it 'goin' on gurl'..excellent actress. I guess she and hubby have an island in Canada, I'm thinking Ontario to get away from the craziness. Don't blame her. Imagine a small out of the way place like Prince Edward Island, Canada and I happen to see her. What are the odds?!
You have to wonder how they can do that. Boone (dog) sometimes goes out in the blistering sun and just snoozes away, although he has a hard time with the humidity. Tammy
Sometimes it makes absolutely no sense why they decide to stand or lay in the hot sun instead of seeking shade. Our boys always have access to shade as well if they want it, and sometimes I'll look out and see them standing in what looks like the hottest part of the corral! Go figure.
Yes, our crazy black double-coated long-haired dog loves to go tearing out the back door and plop herself in full sun. She lies there panting for half an hour, or until I head inside. What the heck??

ReplyDeleteAhhhhh, nothing like nap during the day! :-)

I think I would go for the shade myself, but they look quite content.

What would we do without all of these differences in our lives?

Hey, the girls gotta get their tan on, now don't they? If they were human they'd have their bathing suits on!
ReplyDeleteGo figure,AJ! Guess some (donkeys) like it hot.
ReplyDeleteSophie's boy friend, Clancey, prefers the sun....Sophie not.
Maybe it's the names - Doughnut and Cookie are baking.
