What's your smell?
What scent puts a smile on your face? Brings back a flood of memories? Makes all your anxieties melt away for a few moments? One that makes you just feel all warm and cozy?
For me, it is the smell of a horse.
Until next time..........................
I'm pretty fond of a new puppy, and fresh baked bread and a cup of hot chocolate - not at the same time though.....
ReplyDeletei agree wholeheartedly!
ReplyDeletelove the smell of fresh hay, horses and leather. jill
ReplyDeleteDonkey barn smell makes me smile and happy and fresh cut grass. Of course then there are all my favourite scented candles lol. I spent one day in the summer at the DSC but wasn't down in the barn, and as I am driving home I am thinking this just isn't right, I was there all day but I don't smell it...
ReplyDeleteYup, horses can smell wonderful, puppies, new books, new cars, some plastics (when new...probably why cars smell the way they do), hazelnut coffee, vanilla, bread baking, cake baking, roast beef in the oven....oh, no...I'm gaining weight just thinking of all of those foody smells!
ReplyDeleteHoneysuckle blooming around a soft and warm breeze! Somehow it kinda takes all the "grunt" outta workin' in the dirt!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree with you more. That is the best smell in the world. A baby smell is good too.....hey, now you can compare!
ReplyDeleteOhh...I love a good deep smell of a horses fur..but my Top Flooding memory smell...Well, it's fresh cut Alfalfa! When cutting and baling alfalfa as a kid, my Mom always took lunches to the field like clockwork. I loved that smell and remember well, my Dad in his white t-shirt and dark tanned muscle strong arms. I loved my life then, but perhaps I just didn't realize it quite as much as I do now!!
ReplyDeleteHorses are right up there. And, cinnamon buns.
ReplyDeleteI love the smell of a campfire. Even the way it permeates your cloths and lives with you in your skin until you wash it out.
ReplyDeleteYou know what brings back a ton of good memories from elementary school? Pencil shavings in a pencil sharpener!!! Takes me right back!
ReplyDeleteChanel #5...and orange and grapefruit essential oils...love the latter scents and the 1st reminds me of my Mom!
ReplyDeleteChocolate chip cookies baking! Homemade bread!
ReplyDeleteDog. Not all dogs smell wonderful, but most smell good. The smell of my dog is the best smell.
