Day to day goings on here at the farm. Everything from weather to horses and donkeys to chickens to cats and dogs and everything in between. Some blogs will be informative. While others will be I hope, just entertaining and keep you coming back. And of course there will be pictures.

A thought.
We are taught to be prepared, so how do you live in the moment without being prepared?
Well, if you take living in the moment to mean increasing your awareness of the world around you, then that doesn't really interfere with being prepared. It really doesn't have anything to do with long term planning, just with being more in touch with our every day surroundings. Oy, doesn't that make any sense?
As far as I look at it, 'living in the moment' means that you are focusing on whatever you are doing at the time, and that's all. Sure other thoughts will happen and try to take over. But you simply recognize this happening, and get back to the task at hand. You can certainly be prepared while staying in the moment, but don't let it distract you from what you are doing. Is this what you mean or am I off? We should always be prepared but also have those periods to 'relax' and only stay in the moment...no matter for how long. Jim
It's all of the above and then some. Planning for the future and moving that direction while maintaining the current needs. It IS a balancing act for sure, but if you remember to stay flexible and remove the emotion (as much as possible)keeping only the FACTS in view of your mind, it is easier. You also have to ask "to what point do you need to be prepared?" It takes work and it takes practice... both of which I am still doing. But it does become easier. ;-) Hope this helps. <3~

It looks to me like living in the moment, is keeping your camera handy, and taking that action shot of kitty doing his/her high five !
ReplyDeleteIt's too early for me to ponder such things... ;) Have a great day, Cindy!
ReplyDeletei think simply put, but less simply done is having a combination of love for life, hard work and faith. by the way, i absolutely love the picture.
ReplyDeleteI know, if I'm "living in the moment" then I'm not doing any long-term planning? I ain't worrying about tomorrow.
