So, ran into the house, grabbed the camera, back out to the playroom and would you believe that beetle was still there! Sorry for the picture quality. I just aimed and clicked.
After taking the first pic the beetle took off at high speed across the room again. It stopped for a fraction of a moment by Maggie's paw. Maggie is a Boxer and weighs about 70 pounds. You can see how big the beetle is compared to her paw.
Well, if you haven't already guessed, the beetle was caught in a container and taken outside where he belongs.
So, who the heck needs coffee to get the adrenilin pumping when a huge beetle is there to do it for you! :)
Until next time......................
I have never heard about a bug that would wait while you got your camera! He must have understood! LOL! That is one big ugly critter! I suppose he thought the same about the dog and you!
ReplyDeleteOMG...I would have screamed too..".but wait" would not have been my words lol....
ReplyDeleteMorning coffee is a must...a total must!
Ugh. Been there. Sorry beetle, this is not the place for you! Rosie would have been all over that thing as soon as she saw it move. She has a special attraction to low-flying carpenter bees, but she's far too slow for the likes of them.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I had one cup too many today and it made my stomach all upset. But, yes, one cup is a must.
ReplyDeleteHoly good grief! That is an enormous beetle. I wouldn't have been worried about any camera, at least until I got the thing outside. And, I would have been screaming all of the time. I think even the cats would have avoided that thing.
ReplyDeleteI would have had to change my pants if I saw that before coffee.
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness that is a huge bug! I think I would have spilt my coffee and gone running, lol!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I'm not the only one that runs for the camera at every weird little thing!
ReplyDeleteCheck out the antennae on the critter! Do you know the 'type' of beetle it is? They are a real nuisance in this neck of the woods.....destroying all the spruce and pine trees. Came across on ships from other parts of the world. There are no natural predators here to keep a balance.....so they eat up our trees!
ReplyDeleteVery cute bug! He thanks you for saving his little life!
