I apologize for not blogging these past few days. Sadly on Friday my beloved parrot, Joey, passed away. His passing truly devastated me. Looking at his picture now brings tears to my eyes. Joey was a very special bird full of life and comic behaviour. He was a rescue and one who touched my soul. Fly free my little green friend. On a happier note, here is Squirrel, the kitten I blogged about the other day. She is getting healthier with each passing day. Now she has ventured into the living room and realized that there is a whole new world there. I caught her trying to climb one of the fake trees I have. When I asked her what she was doing, she jumped onto the arm of the couch and am pretty sure she thought she was hiding. As you can see, I found her! Ha Ha In case you are wondering why I have fake trees in my house, well, it is very simple, I do not have a green thumb. I like plants, but the only ones I can keep alive are the two fake trees in the living room. The family thinks they are ugly and I should get rid of them. Um, not going to happen. Have to have trees for a Squirrel to climb in!
Sorry to hear about Joey. It's hard, no matter what type of animal it is, to loose them when they have touched our hearts. Will be thinking of you today.

It always amazes me how, when you lose an animal you love, there is always another one there, needing your love. It doesn't make it any easier, but I think it teaches us to love better.
